Members of the Stamford Fire Department responded to a Washington Boulevard home shortly before 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, when a local resident walked into the South End Fire Station and reported that his building was on fire.
Units from that station, with an assist from additional units from Headquarters, Woodside and the Shippen Firehouse were quickly at the scene, where they found smoke coming from the third floor of the multi-family home.
Fire crews stretched a hose line into the home, and the fire, which originated in the third-floor bathroom, was extinguished quickly and declared under control by 11:06 p.m., less than a half hour after it was reported.
Officials said the cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported. Check Daily Voice for updates.
